

I just sign-in with whatever User ID and bypass any unified syncing app nonsense. I use portable apps with the PortableApps launcher.

MS apparently wants to control access between apps. It's pretty simple but you have to bypass all of the typical MS nonsense solutions. There is also no way for you to enter the Skype login info anymore with the Windows 8. A year later, and it is actually worse: there is no way to get around using Microsoft's account trying to do so creates an endless loop now.
